Who is Florrie?
Florrie is a drummer, singer, songwriter and guitarist.
Currently Florrie is unsigned and gives much of her music away to fans for free to download, play, share, post - see Florrie's free MP3 downloads.
Florrie’s has released 2 EPs. ‘Introduction’ was released free to download in November 2010. Her second, six-track EP ‘Experiments’ was released in June 2011, independently through iTunes, and charted on iTunes around the world.

- Florrie: as traditional a musician and performer as can possibly be, but at the same time a completely new type of independent pop artist.
- Florrie is a 22 year old artist, originally from Bristol in the south-west of the UK. She‘s a drummer, singer, songwriter, guitarist and remixes her own tracks. She played her first ever gig, aged 7, dressed as a fish!
- In June 2008 she became the Xenomania house drummer, playing drums on ‘The Promise’ by Girls Aloud & various other tracks for Kylie, Pet Shop Boys etc. Florrie worked her way up through the ranks at Xenomania from drummer to writing lyrics to singing tracks to programming and remixing
- Contemporary French disco legend Fred Falke has been an instrumental force in defining Florrie’s sound. Her first track ‘Call 911’ was co written and remixed by him, and was released in Feb 2010.
- Kitsuné, the impeccably hip French electronic music and fashion label, included ‘Call 911’ on a compilation with Ponystep, the globally renowned fashion art and music style magazine based in East London. Call 911 was also released as the lead single from the Kitsuné x Ponystep CD in July 2010
- Florrie’s music has been played on Radio One in the UK and on radio stations around the world
- Florrie has been interviewed by, photographed and featured in, a wide range of publications: NME, Music Week, Nylon, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Tatler, Grazia, Heat, Hello and more.
- Florrie has made much of her music free to fans here on her website, and her tracks have gone down a storm with music blogs and influential music titles such as Pitchfork, NME and The Fader.
- Florrie’s first EP ‘Introduction’ was released in November 2010, containing 4 more original tracks: “Call of the Wild”, “Left Too Late”, “Give Me Your Love” and “Summer Nights”
- Florrie released her second, six-track EP ‘Experiments’ in June 2011, independently through iTunes. It was recorded between East London, Kent and Los Angeles, with a list of collaborators including legendary producer Mike Chapman (Blondie’s Parallel Lines), hotly tipped underground pop artist MNEK and French house maestros Something A La Mode.
- Experiments EP charted on iTunes around the world reaching No. 111 in the American iTunes album chart, No 7 in Spain, No 44 in France and No 41 in the UK chart. In the month following release, Florrie sold over 16,000 tracks on iTunes.
- A completely new type of independent artist, Florrie continues to release via her own label, despite offers from major labels in the UK and the USA, in order to maintain complete creative control over her music and build her fanbase herself, so that when the time is right she can find the best label to partner with.
- Florrie has written a blog post about the processes of working as an independent artist in 2011 and how it is possible to fund a music career through syncs and performances in order to remain independent and build her own career.
- Since her debut release in 2010 Florrie has already built a strong word of mouth following through giving away much of her music free via her website.
- Florrie has also built a loyal live following and, after supporting Two Door Cinema Club on their UK and European tour recently, her own tour has taken Florrie across the world from Manchester to Moscow and London to Paris.
- In summer 2011, Florrie has performed at a number of festivals in the UK and Europe, with more dates to come in Germany, Ireland, Spain and the UK.
